Akshay Kumar has been taking up some interesting subjects since last couple of years, and soon the Khiladi Kumar will be seen playing Havildar Ishar Singh in Karan Johar’s next production 'Kesari', based on the leader of the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi.
The actor is getting ready for some high-octane stunts for his upcoming film. As per the reports, the actor will be learn some special traditional artillery for the film, sword fighting and Gatka (an Indian martial art form, which is associated with the Sikhs of the Punjab ) for Kesari.
The forms being one the oldest form of self-defense that Sikhs resorted to, the makers of the movie have reportedly decided to showcase it in the film. Akshay Kumar has allegedly allowed fifteen days for the training. Though the hand-to-hand combat scenes in the film are few, the team is contemplating to rope in pehelwans from the akharas of Punjab to bring in more authenticity.
At present, the actor is busy promoting his upcoming film 'PadMan', a biography based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead. PadMan has been postponed to avoid a clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavaat, and the film will now release on February 9.
