After an awesome 2016 with the good run of hits, Akshay proved his worth at the box office with the good films he did. Barring Housefull 3, both Airlift and Rustom garnered loads of critical acclaim and were successful hits.

Akshay had a dream run with his films 2016, and showed other actors how he doesn’t need a holiday or some useless commercial content to work at the box office. Now in the first week of the January of the brand new year, we look at the releases Akshay is going to have this year.



Jolly LLB 2

After a very successful first part, Subhash Kapoor came with his second installment of the Jolly LLB franchise. The first part focused on a very pivotal subject, and portrayed the matter such beautifully with the right amount of humor. The next part got Arshad Warsi replaced by Akshay Kumar in the major part. The second part is also primarily a courtroom drama, dealing another important subject. The lawyer opposite is now Annu Kapoor and again Saurabh Shukla will don the judge part. The film is all set to release on 10th Feb, 2017.



Toilet - Ek Prem Katha

Last year Akshay again shook hands with Neeraj Pandey for another time for another flick, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha. Akshay Kumar even began the work for his next very recently. The title of the film 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' is weird, but it is a different kind of love story. The film will also be starring Dum Laga Ke Haisha star Bhumi Pednekar. The movie will be directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Neeraj Pandey. It will be having the PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as its motto campaign which would be lapping up with the subject of the film. The lead Akshay Kumar will be donning the character of a Pay & Use toilet owner, who will be falling in love with one of the girl in the slum areas. This movie will be bel highlighting the importance of having the toilets and how toilets are important in the slum areas to curb out the social evil of defecating in the open. The film is all set to release on 2 June, 2017.




The Most Expensive Indian film made ever, with a budget of 400 crores. This is going to be mammoth, with country’s two biggest superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar coming together for the sequel of Robot. The film will again be directed by Shankar, who is known for his magnum opus films. This film will be having Akshay playing a negative role, and the film be releasing worldwide on 18th October, 2017.
