With just a few days left, Akshay Kumar is all geared up for his upcoming release, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha.
But, the star has taken a step closer to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which the film Toilet Ek Prem Katha, is primarily based on. The actor is getting on the root level to make sure that he could contribute the maximum to change the situation in the society, not just by the movie but also with the initiatives and his deeds.
Well, he tweeted, that to take the Swachh Azaadi a step further, an organisation named Kaya Constructs, in association with the film has built toilets across the country.
Akshay would unveil them over the next 24 hours via Instagram stories. Akshay also released a ‘Toilet Anthem’ video titled “Toilet Ka Jugaad”, which is a satirical take on the much prevalent social issue of open defecation in India.
Over 54% of India still defecates in the open, with millions of women risking of getting raped and over 2 lakh children die every year due to infections from open defecation. The movie digs at a major issue.
The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher, and will hit the theatres on Aug 11.
