It was clash of the titans as India took on Pakistan in their second match of the World T20 at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match was reduced to 18 overs a side after heavy rains kept the fans waiting for sometime.
Keeping the bowler friendly conditions in mind, MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Pakistan got a slow start and began cautiously scoring just 24 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. Pakistan batsman were finding it difficult to play spinners and Dhoni made use of the opportunity by introducing Raina in the seventh over who broke the partnership and gave Pakistan first blow in the form of Sharjeel. Shahid Afridi promoted himself up the order in order to play the big shots but even that did not help. India's new place duo Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya came into the attack and dismissed Ahmed Shehzad and Shahid Afridi in the tenth and twelfth over. Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik went for the hunt from the first ball scoring a quick fire 41 runs in four overs. Both fell at a crucial stage when they could have added some more runs to the Pakistan total

Chasing 119 in 18 overs. India lost Rohit Sharma early when he tried to loft Mohammad Amir down the ground. Things got even worse when Shijhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina were bowled by Mohammad Sami of consecutive deliveries in the fourth over. India were struggling at 23/3 when Yuvraj Singh came in. He along with Kohli rotated the strike well ands added 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Virat Kohli completed his fifty of just 33 balls and took India home with 13 balls to spare. He was adjudged Man of the Match. With this win, India maintained their winning streak against Pakistan in WT0 beating them 5 times in 5 encounters.
